VIVOCITY

I really like workin in events. Fun and you get to see different kinds of people and all.

So yes, these few days have been kinda busy.

Went for two interviews on Friday for the upcomin job for the launchin of VivoCity, and as well as another job for some company called Hella. (Not the Hair dye, Wella.) Rushed over to tutor the kids, and went over to Gardens after that to have supper with the HRM people. we went to Liquid kitchen but i left earlier as some things screwed up. Ohwells.

Saturday.

So had tuition in the morning again as the kids' exams are nearing, headed for a movie-monster house, with jussy as he has two free tickets for Golden Village. The show was pretty entertaining, but ended rather fast. Made my way to meet jeff for a lunch and to get some stuffs from him, and thanks to him, i saved a lot of time travellin to and fro to get the stuffs. :)

Met Joanna soon after to make our way to Shangri-La hotel to work for some event. Well, apparently the event was some sort of big event for the Indians, as the Bollywood star, if im not wrong, named Sha-Roo-Kum? came to asia, so he had a concert bein held there. Worked as a receptionist plus Usher over there for the night. Surprising, President Nadan came to the Hotel too, but i'm not sure if he came for this event.

They requested 15 chinese girls to help out, and we were all dressed in black Gowns, and the place was like freezing to death. -.-

Was pretty surprised to see Alvin Neo and Engmeng at the event as well as they were managin the backstage and all.

Today was a really tiring day. Worked for the job which is somehow to publicise and create awareness bout the New Retail and lifestyle destination-VivoCity.

Vivocity will be located at HarbourFront, and right next to the HBF MRT. Its the LARGEST Shopping area with 300 shops as well as a 2nd TANGS opening there too. It is linked with HBF MRT and also the Sentosa Express(Monorail, which starts operations in Dec).
A new GOLDEN VILLAGE with the widest screens will be situated there as well. Etc etc.

So yes, It will open on the 7th of october.
Cant wait to check it out soon after that.

The girls were divided into different themes such as beach Wear, IT, clubbing, sports etc. I was in the Sports theme which was together with 3 other girls. And there were two groups of 4 for the sport theme.

It was pretty interesting, and the girls all met as early as 9am as Plaza Singapura and the in-charge took us all to Jean Yip Hairdressing, to make up, do your hair if you need to, change to the Outfit that they had provided and then off to work.

And what more, most of the clothes were sponsored by Esprit and some by Forever 21.

I will skip the details, and show some pictures instead. Definitely a very tiring day.

The Diary: Bringin' you to Europe Part 3

12th September 2006

Well, the 3rd day in London.

Mom went off early in the mornin to her meetin while daddy and me were still sleeping. We then woke up at bout 10am to prepare and went for the Hotel's breakfast at round 11am (it supposed to end at 11am actually).

Daddy and i then spent the rest of the day together. Mom gave dad a task which is to check out the hotel that we will be changin to tomorrow. Well, cause the 10 Days Europe trip will have a coach to pick us up at a particular place really Early in the morning and that hotel we will be moving to will be nearer to the place, so it will be more convenient for us.

And the task also includes checking out where is the place that the coach will pick us up, and another hotel that we will be stayin on the last day of the trip when we are back in London.

So daddy and i walked to our nearby underground station: Green Park. And purchased a ticket each. The value of the ticket is decide upon how many stops are you goin to travel. Such as like 4 stops 4 stops = 3 pounds, 6 stops= 4.5 pounds etc.. so even if you want to travel for only One stop, you still have to pay for the 4 stops ticket.

The map stated the nearest station to the Hotel we will be moving, which was 3 stops away. So daddy and i got ourselves the 3 pounds ticket each (S$9!!!) for ONE single trip, no refunds like Singapore too.

Inside the train station looks like this..

The train is super small as compared to Singapore. No aircon at all, and it's kinda stuffy, Old and jerky while it was moving. Now, i feel Singapore is so much cleaner.

We reached and daddy followed the map to see which direction we are headin to. But we saw some shops and decided to take a walk over there first.

And we went into a Saver Supermarket! Which is definitely cheaper than the normal supermarkets in London!

Here are some of the special items that i think they cant be found in Singapore.

I bought this snack that i remember Sg was selling something similar few years back then. And i remember i love it very much. It was very similar, and oh man, its very tasty!!

Cereal snack!

Daddy and i then begin to make our way to search for the hotel as what mom marked on the map. I SWEAR TO YOU THE WHOLE SEARCHIN TRIP MADE US WALKED FOR 5 HOURS.

My feet had blisters and all after that man. -.-

Well, it happened that Mom marked the cross on the map at a slightly different area (but near) to the hotel area we are goin to move to. And as you know, the routes and all in the Map is So compressed and small, till that little deviation means FEW streets away!!!!

And we had been roaming that wrong street to and fro for hours in search for that place.

And durin that roaming session, daddy and i came across a small cafe house and had lunch there.

Oh yes, that was our lunch again.
More breads!

So it was during this lunch time, when i read the map and told daddy that the cross seemed wrongly marked, dad then checked and well, phew! at least we search no more.

We found the hotel shortly after that, and went to search for the next place, which was pretty near. And then the final place again. We walked for another 1-2 hours again. But well, sightseeing on the way.

Came across the British Library.

Me.

Daddy.

Went to another station, and took the train back to our hotel area. And we bought fruits at this booth outside the underground station!

It was damn nice!!! SWEET! :D

Dad and i then shopped around our area before heading back to the hotel and i saw a couple of things on the way.

It's always Bread, Bread and Bready.

hahaha.

Oh oh oh! And we found A market!!!!!!!!!
Finally, i was excited cause it means cheaper things!! But No man, still as expensive!! Its just antiques and all. -.-

Lasly, thats me.

Back to hotel and the Mac 99Pence (S$3) burger was my dinner, that was the cheapest food i could find. Mom went to her company's dinner and dad went roamin on his own at night.

I miss London..........

The Diary: Bringin' you to Europe Part 2.

Hello. :)

I think i'm going to take weeks to blog bout the whole trip if i continue to remain at this speed. Some said i might take a month. Well well, i'll speed up!

okie dokie. I had some great fun yesterday, as well as today. Both days were really really nice. :)

Went to find Selene at Ice cube yerterday after my tuition as she was there with her friend. Cousin Junlynn came shortly after that and we sat abit to talk together before Junny and me headed to Coffee bean for dinner, ok, supper then. I have to admit the Roasted chicken and mushroom Fusilli still taste as good as last time. You should try it if you are a creamy pasta lover! :D

Did some nice catchin up with Junny, and hope she's enjoying her work right now! See you soon Junny, we shall have loads of time to catch up, have fun, and to get busy with Monopoly next Sat! The one that is the first to get bankrupt will be thrown into the POOL! :D

Oh yes, Its 8 days to my birthday!
And i'm gonna have a Family BBQ night on that very actual day at my"fairy" godmother's condo since it falls on a Saturday too. And I am thankful to my cousin Junlynn and godma for the trouble to help to prepare the food and all. :)

I slept till 3pm today which was pretty horrible man. Krys called me for a couple of times to wake me but i didnt hear them.

So met up with krys at Garden's liquid kitchen at round 5.30 and chilled for bout 2 hours. Had a great time updatin each other and i'm gonna meet her Tomorrow for lunch! :DDD

Went off to meet Apple sickoo after that! We didnt see each other for Months if im not wrong! Finally we met and chatted nonstop at some coffeeshops where she was having her dinner. Nice! :D

Okay, now. Europe time.

11th September 2006

Weather was good. It was cooling yet not very cold. And the Sun came out too, but well, its still cooling. Nice weather.

The view from the Hotel room.

Daddy, Mom and i went out after preparing and we walked around to find a place that has buses like this.

It's operated by The Big Bus company and it was a one day tour around London. You could hop on and drop at any bus stop they stop, anytime and as much as you want to. Those busstops are near to quite some attractions in London such as the Madame Tussad's Museum, London's Eye, Big Ben, Tower of London. Since we were free and easy that day, and didnt know where to walk in London, we joined this tour. And man, it cost us 20 pounds (bout S$60!) each for the ticket! NOT including the entry to the attractions, which means it was only for bus rides!!!!

Please bear with me, i think i'm gonna complain bout the prices and all often for this trip.

Well, we had one free river cruise but it was nth much.

Thats the 2nd deck of the bus.

Dad and Mom.

We were given a map of the stops where the bus will be goin to, as well as where to stop for those attractions that we want to see.

So first stop was the TOWER OF LONDON.

Okay, this is not the Tower of London yet.

We passed by the Fish and chips store, and decided to have our lunch there! It was a take away. And we ordered One set to share as we were not really hungry.

Those small puddles are sauces.
Okay, cause they were so many and i wanted to try all of them. Greedy yes.

Tower of London is actually a castle/palace!

Here it is!

This is the place that displayed the MOST valuable crowns of the kings, queens, princess wore before their deaths and it has the most expensive diamonds and all on each of them. They were displayed at one of the Towers and No cameras are allowed there. So i couldn't get any shot of it.

Well, but the main attraction of the tower of London is the crowns.

I saw people who were dressed up like this there.

Inside...

Yeah, dad said we shouldnt Block those soldiers behind us.
The soldiers were marchin and changin shifts at that time and well, they must stand at that location, cannot move and have no expression for hours! And what more, they are facing everybody.

The tower of london is the place that the queens, kings and all lived when they are alive, and the different sections of the palace, such as their kitchens, church, their bedrooms etc etc. To see their whole palace.

Tower of London cost us 18 pounds each. -.-

The next location was the LONDON EYE.

We sat the cruise to cross over to the London Eye.

saw this..

We reachedand packed Macdonalds to eat during the London Eye ride. And what What what, the Mac meal cost round 7 pounds each (round S$21). For one meal of burger, drink, fries that you can easily get it in Sg's mac for $6-7. *slaps forehead*

Yeah, that's the one!

Yup, we have to go in one of those round cubicles and it will turn one round slowly and let you enjoy the scenery as well as taking photos.

Well well, it certainly turned slowly which approximately took about 1 hour. Im not kidding! And before we enter, we have to pass through the Security?!! They will check our bags.

Alright Alright, i'ts a better version of the turnin wheel where you see in themeparks. And 15 pounds each. Woo! -.-

But well, we got ourselves views like this...

All these took us bout half the day, and since we started out at a time near to noon, we ended slightly before evenin and sat the bus again to catch a view of some of the famous attractions, frequent places, busy places and some old prominent buildings.

Such as.....

the London's Hard Rock Cafe.

London's Bridge!

Old telephone booths.

There are many in London. Or rather, most of their telephone booths are like that.

Big Ben!

This is Famous. But i have no idea why is it called the Big Ben. And guess what. Big Ben AIN'T the whole place.

It is refering to this.

The clock's name is Big Ben.

And then,

The London's Dungeon.

Some sort of Haunted house i guess.
If i didnt remember wrongly, it used to be a place where they put the prisoners.

St. Thomas Hospital.

Biggest 3D cinema in London.

Theaters.

Watchin A musical in London is like watchin a movie in Singapore. Well, they have more musical theaters than movie theaters! We wanted to watch one, but then it is not cheap still. Sigh.

Some buildings that i've mentioned...

Then i saw this..

They were Real women posing there! you can imagine the attention the shop has gotten!

And thats me.

We joined the night walk around in London, and there will be a guide who will bring you around, telling you different scary digusting ghost story about this particular place. Well, it sure brought goosebumps to me upon hearing them. But dad was not listenin most of the time. While we stood there, he will walk about to one corner see see look look. So in the end, we were tired of walkin and we headed back to our area.

And we went to have Chinese cusine!

WOO!!!
Mom said im digusting when i took this picture.

you can never guess the price of the dishes, or rather, the whole meal. Freakingggggggggg expensive.

And lastly, back to the Hotel.

I bought this on the way..

It's s a famous brand of chips in London. You dont see Lays at all. You see this in every supermarket, provision etc.

And i've to admit that the chips really are tasty, and they tasted exactly the same according to the taste that was written on the packet. Ok, what i meant was, i previously bought a packet of this chips in BBQ RIBS flavor. The first thing that came to my mind upon seeing the description was that it will most probably taste like BBQ chips, spicy spicy sweet sweet. BUT, i can taste the RIBSSSSS!! -.- And the ribs taste made the chips horrible to eat.

So well, the Cheese Onion was nice.
But yeah, the Roasted chicken certainly do have the real chicken taste, which is kinda weird and eeeeww.

Well, i gotta end here. Continue soon again. I'll speed up i promise!

CIAO and Au Revoir!
